MINFOPRA BOSS PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO GROUPE SAINT-CHRISTOPHE, HAILS ITS MEDIA CHANNELS FOR PUBLIC COMMUNICATION AND CALLS FOR RESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM
The Minister of the Public Service and Administrative Reform, Mr Joseph LE, paid an official courtesy visit to the newly constructed headquarters of Groupe Saint-Christophe, located in the Mvog-Ada neighborhood of Yaounde. This immersion into a state-of-the-art media complex paves the way for a strategic partnership between MINFOPRA and the press outlets of the group.
Accompanied by the Secretary of State to the Ministry of Public Works in charge of Roads, Armand NDJODOM, Minister Joseph LE was conducted on a comprehensive guided tour of the facility by the Chief Executive Officer of Groupe Saint-Christophe, Mr. Joël NKOUEMO, Special Advisor to the Presidency of the Central African Republic. The delegation inspected the various operational spaces, ranging from executive offices and conference rooms to the newsrooms and production studios.
As a Senior Journalist and seasoned Editorialist, Minister Joseph LE commended the architectural achievement of the five-story complex. The modern infrastructure houses a full media bouquet comprising two radio stations (Capital FM 102.7 and Tropic FM 88.1), three print publications (Le Témoin, Miel Info, and Capital Info), as well as a television channel, Times TV.
Impressed by the quality of the broadcast and production equipment, the Minister delivered a clear message to the editorial teams and media personnel. Speaking with the authority of an editorialist, he emphasized that such high-standard facilities carry a duty of professional excellence, declaring that the ball is now in the court of communication professionals to prove worthy of this exceptional working environment. He urged journalists to leverage these modern tools to provide honest, fair, and credible information to the Cameroonian public.
Following a private audience among the political figures, Minister Joseph LE highlighted the critical role of media collaboration in the ongoing modernization of public administration. He underscored that effective communication is essential as the nation accelerates its digital transformation:
"We are in the midst of a full transition toward digital modernization. The President of the Republic has defined this policy of modernization, which consists of digitizing public services to simplify procedures for users."
The Minister noted that many government initiatives remain under-reported due to communication gaps. He stressed the imperative to better publicize government actions, such as the upcoming nationwide deployment of AIGLES a major digital solution designed to streamline human resource management and payroll thereby implementing the policy outlined by President H.E Paul BIYA.
Furthermore, Minister Joseph LE reaffirmed his commitment to building a strong synergy with Groupe Saint-Christophe. Beyond coverage of MINFOPRA’s reform agenda, this collaboration extends to major international events, notably the Course Internationale VTT Chantal Biya for which Groupe Saint-Christophe serves as a major international media partner and the BAGOFIT International Business Week, of which the Minister is the promoter. This joint approach aligns with broader national efforts to promote digital governance and enhance Cameroon's international standing.
Concluding the visit, the CEO of Groupe Saint-Christophe, Minister Joël NKOUEMO, expressed appreciation to Minister Joseph LE for his open-door policy toward the press. He reiterated his group's readiness to host the Minister for dedicated, in-depth broadcasts aimed at enlightening public opinion on national administrative reforms.
