SERVICEPUBLIC.GOV.CM: MINFOPRA SEEKS HOMEPAGE REDESIGN AND NEW PORTAL IDENTITY
Under cloudy skies, one key question set the tone for the discussions: how can servicepublic.gov.cm become a more accessible and user-friendly gateway to public services? The working session began at 11:00 a.m. at the MINFOPRA Club, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, Joseph LE. It brought together the Secretary General, Mr. MAINA Anatole; the Inspector General, Ms MEJANG née TABOD Jacqueline Mah; the Permanent Secretary for Administrative Reform, Mr. Yves Alain TCHAGADICK; other MINFOPRA officials; and representatives of ADWA SARL, the service provider, to review the portal ahead of its validation and public launch.
Through presentations and live demonstrations, participants reviewed the platform, which brings together 1,250 administrative procedures across 25 thematic categories for individuals and businesses. Available in French and English, the portal provides information on required documents, fees, processing times and relevant services. It also features an institutional directory, downloadable forms and a feedback facility. Users can access it on computers, tablets and smartphones, while its mobile application allows offline consultation of downloaded procedures.
Discussions focused on improving accessibility, data security and the portal’s visual identity, while simplifying administrative procedures and strengthening the verification of information supplied by public administrations. To prepare for the public launch, the Communication Unit presented a proposed 90-day awareness campaign to promote the platform across the ten regions.
In his concluding recommendations, Minister Joseph LE called for a new name and an improved visual identity for the portal. “We need to find a more appealing name for this portal and improve its visual appearance to make it more attractive, modern and user-friendly,” said the Minister. He announced plans to invite young people to submit creative proposals, including logos and visual designs. He also requested a review of ADWA SARL’s contract to clarify the provider’s responsibilities for platform management, content updates, maintenance and continuous improvement. The Minister further emphasised the need to progressively digitalise administrative procedures, allowing users to complete more formalities remotely and reducing unnecessary travel.
